About Aksum Intelligence

Aksum Intelligence LLC was originally founded as GenNext Performance
in 2008 by Mr. Kim R. Wells, an award winning Master Executive Coach, former Global Diversity Executive, and a Nationally Recognized Howard University Executive Development Educator, Executive Instructor, and Adjunct Professor.

In today's coaching world that is saturated with "instant certified experts," education "counselors" with Zero corporate experience, and dated diversity leadership concepts, Kim has emerged as a proven strategic leader in Black executive performance and career development. A native of Princeton, NJ, Kim was heavily influenced by one of the most advanced educational communities in the world. Kim later continued his studies at Howard University and was mentored under some of the world's leading Black scholars in Black business and professional development such as Leroy Wells, Cecil Blake.

Kim"s early successes included leading corporate performance and management consulting initiatives with firms such as Resource Opportunities Incorporated, Vantage HR Consulting, and Booz-Allen & Hamilton. Kim later transitioned to higher education as the Director of the Howard University Central Career Services Office, and quickly emerged as a national leader in diversity career development, while also serving on numerous national boards such as Monster.com, the Advisory Board of Interview Stream, Board of Directors for the National Association for Colleges and Employers (NACE), the White House HBCU Career Development Committee, the President of the Maryland Career Development Association, and was an award winning leader in the National Urban League Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP). Kim returned to the corporate world as the Executive Vice President of Global Diversity at Universum Communications where he again emerged as a global leader in advising numerous Fortune 500 and global companies on strategic diversity initiatives including Ernest & Young, GE, Capital One, GEICO, Fannie Mae, and more. Kim returned to Howard University where he initially lead the MBA program and later was promoted as the Executive Director of Executive Education and the Center for Career Excellence a division which includes the Executive MBA program, Executive Certificate programs, and the primary career and professionals development services of the School of Business.

Kim also launched the Black Alliance of Colleges and Employers (BACE) with several Black Career Development leaders and leading corporate diversity leaders to address the growing need for more strategic alliances, training, technology integration, and research to support the recruitment and career development of Black professionals​.​ Other recent professionals leadership roles have included becoming a National Board member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources where he leads the development of the Global HR Leadership Institute. ​

Today Aksum Intelligence has 8 active executive performance associates and has worked with rising Black Executives and their teams in organizations such as NASA, INOVA Health Care, Homeland Security, CIGNA, Sodexo, Chicago District 509 School Board, Montgomery County Public Schools, The Silver Bird Group, Pennsbury Public Schools, Fairless Hills Parent & Student Coalition, University of California Riverside, and many more. Aksum clients have also included senior executives from Nigeria, Ghana, Trinidad, Morocco and China.
